Player Insurance

Albion Rovers has taken out injury insurance with Kiely Gaule Financial Services for all registered paid up (including subscription payers) players as part of their registration fee.

Please note there is an excess of €150 where the player / parent are liable, this initial cost cannot be claimed back from either the insurance company nor Albion Rovers.

The insurance is capped at a maximum payout of €6,000 from our insurance company. Albion Rovers is not liable for any additional claims.

Injuries must be reported on the day to the coach as the insurance company insist on a written report signed by the coach / manager.

Similar to all amateur sports and their respective clubs, Albion Rovers recomends that as soccer is a contact sport, that players have their own insurance.

A copy of the insurance details are available upon request.

Albion Rovers FC Child Safeguarding Statement
The Football Association of Ireland provides various sporting activities and opportunities for
young people through participation in clubs, regional/provincial events and through our
national teams.
Albion Rovers FC (hereinafter called the club) is committed to safeguarding children and by
working under the guidance of FAI Safeguarding Policies our staff, both volunteers and
employed working with our young people, seek to create a safe environment for young people
to grow and develop.
The Clubs’ written Risk Assessment document indicates the areas of potential risk of harm, the
likelihood of the risk occurring, and gives the required policy, guidance or process documents
require to alleviate these risks. The list of risks identified are contained in the following
categories: Club and Coaching Practices; Complaints & Discipline; Reporting Procedures; Use of
Facilities; Recruitment; Communications; and General Risk of Harm.

Our Child Safeguarding Statement has been developed in line with requirements under the
Children First Act 2015, (the Children First: National Guidance, and Tusla’s Child Safeguarding: A
Guide for Policy, Procedure and Practice). In addition to our Risk Assessment document
described above, there are further procedures that support our intention to safeguard children
while they are availing of our activities.
The Club has the following procedures in place as part of our Safeguarding Policies:
. Procedures for the management of allegations of abuse or misconduct by staff or
volunteers against a child availing of our activities
. Procedures for the safe recruitment of staff and volunteers to work with children in our
activities

. Procedures for access to child safeguarding training and information, including the
identification of the occurrence of harm
. Procedure for reporting of child protection or welfare concerns to Statutory Authorities

We recognise that implementation is an ongoing process. Our Club is committed to the
implementation of this Child Safeguarding Statement and the procedures that support our
intention to keep children safe from harm while availing of our activities.
This Child Safeguarding Statement will be reviewed by February 2025.

ANTI-BULLYING STATEMENT/POLICY

We aim to create a supportive environment where any form of Bullying is unacceptable. We adopt ‘a whole organisational approach’ to addressing Bullying and are committed to implementing structures and relevant training to deal with allegations of Bullying. Incidents of Bullying are regarded as serious breaches of our Code of Behaviour (Underage). We are committed to achieving an ethos of respect so as to maximise the potential of all our members when playing or participating in our Soccer club.

Parents Code of Conduct

Always show respect for all players, opponents, managers/coaches and officials.

Have realistic expectations for your child when playing and don’t put them
under undue pressure.

Ensure that your child arrives on time for training and matches and that safe
arrangements are in place for getting them to and from venues.

Leave coaching to the coaches.

Respect the managers / coaches decisions.

Assist when asked.

Accept disappointment, praise good work and refrain from criticising.

Support the club’s fund-raising activities where possible.

If your player requires hospital treatment a parent must attend.

Emphasise skill development and practice over winning, how beneficial they are
for your own and other children.

De-emphasise games and competition in the lower age groups.

Players Code of Conduct

Players will:

Always show respect for team-mates, managers/coaches, opponents and officials.

Always turn up on time for matches and training.

Always play to win but accept defeat like proper sportspersons.

Always have commitment to your club and pride in your performance.

Ensure that your lifestyle helps rather than hinders your progress.

Pay your subs each season without delay.

Pack your own gear bag and arrive for training and matches with the proper gear and boots – it’s your
bag so carry it yourself and be responsible for it.

Listen to advice given and ask questions if you don’t understand.

Help out with equipment before and after matches and training.

Let the manager know – as soon as possible – if you are injured or sick.

Bullying will not be tolerated and if you feel you are being bullied feel safe to tell the manager.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

Volunteers will:

Show respect for all players and officials and lead by example.

Be fully prepared for coaching sessions and matches.

Ensure a safe environment for learning and development.

Managers/Coaches should keep themselves up to date with new ideas on coaching and development.

Encourage each player in terms of self-discipline, good behaviour and punctuality.

Be self-critical and not afraid to seek assistance.

Be familiar with the Albion Rovers FC Child Protection Guidelines which is given to managers in
Induction Pack and/or through liaison with Albion Rovers Child Protection Officer Johnny Campbell, email:

Liaise with parents but do not share confidential information with them regarding players other than
their own child.

Ensure that all players are aware that all forms of bullying will not be tolerated.

Be generous with your praise when it is deserved.

Personal Data, Date Protection and Club Contact :

I consent to the above Application and to undertakings given by the Applicant.
I understand the personal data on this form will be used by the Club and the Association for the contractual purpose of registering (or re-registering) and maintaining the Applicant’s Membership.
I understand that the Personal Data will be retained by the Club and the Association for such period as the Applicant’s Membership subsists and for a reasonable period thereafter.
I understand that I can resign the Applicant’s Membership by writing to the Club or the Association and their Personal Data will then be erased except where the Club or the Association has a clear justification to retain such Personal Data (e.g. for child safeguarding purposes).

I am aware that my child’s photograph or video image may be taken whilst attending or participating in games or activities connected with the Club and I consent to it being used in the promotion of Soccer Games, print, online/digital and social media mediums of communication for the Club

Medical Consent

I consent to the processing of the personal medical data as outlined above for the purpose of administering medical assistance to my child if required.
In the event of illness/injury, I give permission for medical treatment to be administered by a nominated first aider, or by suitably qualified medical practitioners.
If I cannot be contacted and my child requires emergency hospital treatment, I authorise a qualified medical practitioner to provide emergency treatment or medication.
